Eliza Walters Art
Her beagle’s name is ‘Beagle’, she can’t bear lights on during the day, and a painting commission can leave her pondering bananas as berries.
Eliza Walters has no space for beige and has built a career dedicated to creating positive and lasting change through the arts. Eliza’s love for country communities has led her from her home town on the east coast of Tasmania, to Wagga Wagga, Alice Springs and all the way to Kununurra in the Kimberley. Forever in pursuit of inspiration, Eliza is now based in Coonamble in NSW’s West where her dedication to the community and championing of local artists is now reflected through her own artistic work and the creative space that’s in the pipeline..
Through her artistic practice, Eliza creates her own baskets, screen prints and painting, predominantly on a commission basis these days and in her spare time is renovating an old church with the intention of turning the building into an activation space to share her love of art, community and bringing beauty to repurposed pieces. Eliza is striving to create a place where people can not only enjoy local creations, but be inspired to create for themselves.
Eliza loves the process of creating art, and it really floats her boat to make the process one of collaboration that brings joy to the people she connects with through her practice.
