Welcome to the Pandaemonium Paper
Welcome to the Pandaemonium Paper.
Our quarterly newspaper featuring the stories of innovation in decentralised Australia.
This paper has been a dream of mine for quite some time now and will be our first move as we work to transform the Pandaemonium brand into a media outlet exploring print and digital mediums that support the innovators, creators, business builders and self-starters living outside the traditional metropolitan mould.
Here we’ll be sharing the stories of our favourite change-makers, to inspire us all as we face our own challenges and to guide us as we seek something more for ourselves, the people we love and our communities. To amplify the conversation around how we all make positive progress. Whether you’re based in the city, country or somewhere in-between, this publication has been crafted to encourage you to push the bounds and consider a new way of being for yourself.
Born out of a desire to build better representation for the extraordinary people reshaping our futures, this is something I wish I had when I was younger, struggling to see how it would ever be possible for me to build a big, brilliant life for myself anywhere but in the city. It’s something I wish my little mate Nicholas had before he decided there was no path forward for himself. So if one issue, one story, one anecdote can play a role in showing the way for a young (or not so young) brilliant mind, struggling to find their place in the world, then we’ll call it a job well done.
This first issue has been designed to be very conversational, as we start to lean into these big notions of what it means to be and do better as we face the challenges of the future. Allowing us to dive deeper into complicated themes that contribute to the narratives that form our lives.
In these strange times it seems pressing to examine where success, contemptment and meaning live, geographically and otherwise. And although we tend to think innovation is reserved for the tech moguls of silicon valley, we want to highlight those doing it differently. The ones who have quietly endured, survived and created for decades. Paving the way for their discovery and learning to be adapted by others. It feels very bizarre to have just written my first ‘Letter from the Editor’ but I guess that’s my job now! I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has made a contribution to this first issue. It’s been so humbling to see how much and how many people have given to bring this little dream of mine to life. A humble newspaper - who would have thought!
I hope you enjoy this body of work we’ve so lovingly created for you, the progressive thinker.
