Jaz Stewart Photography

Jaz Stewart Photography started many moons ago as a 15-year-old girl saving every penny to buy her first DSLR camera. I still remember the day that package arrived at boarding school in Sydney. I was busting to open it so much that I was late to class. By year 12 school ramped up and the excitement of it all fell. My camera collected dust in the back of a cupboard for over a year. Moving back to Moree I was stuck due to COVID-19, early 2021 a great friend convinced me to pack my bags and head north for a job as a station cook. Pulling the camera from the back cupboard I packed my little car and headed 5000km into the Kimberley WA stopping multiple times to take pictures I could not believe my eyes. From there things got crazy, people started to love my photos and encouraged me to take more. My camera became a part of my identity up here, people knew me as the cook who photographs the station and local camp-drafts. Over the past 4 years, my skills have grown and my work has gotten better, I love the creative side photography gives me and how I can showcase and shine light onto the Northern Agricultural industry that only a few lucky people ever get to experience. Now in 2024 I am still here at Flora Valley taking photos when I can, something I would love to do more regularly. Recently opening an online print store has allowed others to have little pieces of the Kimberleys in their homes too.
