Shona Telfer first started making hats when her boys wanted a felt hat. Growing up the daughter of a dressmaker and spending her life surrounded by design and creativity, Shona was inspired to have a go at making those hats for herself. Shona’s first hat was far from perfect, the brim was wobbly, and the crown a little uneven but she was completely taken by the process – she’d fallen in love.

Over time Shona has honed her craft and now offers the highest quality, handcrafted felt hats.

Shona’s craftsmanship philosophy is rooted in the heart of rural Australian culture and the relationship between creating one of a kind pieces and ensuring durability that will last through the storms we weather. Each hat is uniquely made to order by Shona, using traditional blocking and shaping methods from rabbit and beaver felt.
